Data Visualization

Data visualization is a modern branch of descriptive statistics. It involves the creation and study of the visual representation of data, meaning “information that has been abstracted in some schematic form, including attributes or variables for the units of information”.

 OBJECTIVE:

The amount and complexity of information produced in science, engineering, business, and everyday human activity is increasing at staggering rates.

This program introduces you to data visualization tools, methods, and techniques that increase the understanding of complex data. Good visual interpretations of data improve comprehension, communication, and decision making.

Course Description:

This masterclass will look at how raw data can be turned into striking visual stories, including both flat graphic design (infographics) and interactives. There will be two workshops in this masterclass in which participants will be asked to collaborate on creating their own visualisations before presenting back to the group.
